Time for Change

Two years ago, I decided to run for Congress. I was fed up with what was happening in American politics and how our local politicians clearly did not listen to or do what the people they represent wanted. Fast forward today, and I still feel the same way. In the two years since... our national debt has increased by 4 trillion dollars, and career politicians remain in office with no term limits in sight. Democratic and Republican members of Congress seem to become millionaires in a short time thanks to their "impeccable" ability to trade stocks. Current members of Congress will not pass laws to stop insider trading or impose term limits on themselves. In addition,  Congress chooses NOT to be responsible with our taxpayer money, always passing the federal budget late and overspending. This dysfunctional process is repeated year after year, and yet these politicians continue to be reelected. Fraud in government has been rampant. The Government Accountability Office estimates that the federal government loses up to 521 billion dollars to fraud each year. We pay so much in taxes that the government can't keep track of our money. A department of government efficiency should not be a partisan issue. Our government needs to be accountable and a good steward of our taxes. Our Idaho members of Congress are ages 63 and 75, while our two senators are 82 and 74. My opponent entered politics before I was born. While we might complain about the politicians in D.C., we continue to re-elect them. We are part of the problem. The old adage of doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result, is insanity.

Idaho needs a common-sense non-politician to represent it in Washington, D.C.

Tax cuts are worthless if the government keeps overspending. Inflation is the real tax.

Am I the only one?

  • In 2025, Americans experienced the longest government shutdown in history, 43 days.  While federal workers and our military worked without paychecks, Congress continued receiving theirs. The fiscal year starts on October 1. As of December 2025,  Congress has still not completed all 12 appropriations bills, and it has passed only 4 budgets on time in the past 50 years.

  • A 2023 NPR article stated 87% of Americans support congressional term limits. So, if We the People want term limits, why hasn't Congress passed them? Are our elected members of Congress representing their voters?

  • The US national debt has reached 38 trillion dollars, while the estimated annual interest payment is 1 trillion dollars. Which is interest only and does not pay down the debt. This simply is not sustainable.  In 1999, the US national debt was $5 trillion. Fast forward 27 years, and it has increased by 33 trillion dollars. What future are we leaving our children and grandchildren if we continue to vote for people who mismanage our hard-earned money and push us further into debt?

We must change this!
