Time for Change

Two years ago I decided to run for Congress. I was fed up with what was happening in American politics and how politicians not caring about they people they represent. Fast forward today I still feel the same way. In the two years since...our national debt has increased 4 trillion dollars, career politicians remain in office with no term limits, and more. Tax cuts are worthless if the government keeps overspending. Inflation is the real tax. Idaho, we need a common sense non-politician to speak up for Idaho in Washington D.C.

Am I the only one?

  • In 2025 Americans experienced the longest government shutdown in history, 43 days.  While federal workers and our military went without a paycheck,  members of Congress continued to get their check. The fiscal year starts October 1 of each year. As of December, still has not completed all 12 full-year 2026 appropriations bills. Congress has only passed four budgets on time in the past 50 years.

  • A 2023 NPR article said 87% of Americans support congressional term limits. So if We the People want term limits, why hasn't Congress passed them? Is our elected congress representing us voters who elect them?

  • The US national debt is 38 Trillion dollars, while the estimated interest payment is expected to be 1 Trillion dollars. In 1999, the US national debt was 5 Trillion dollars. Fast forward 27 years, and it has increased by 33 Trillion dollars. What future are we leaving to our children and grandchildren if we continue to vote for people who mismanage our hard-earned money and get us further in debt?

I can't do this alone!

Paid for by Sean Higgins for Congress, Sean Higgins Treasurer.
