As of 2024, America has 34 trillion dollars in debt. In 1999 our was 5 trillion dollars. This amount has steadily increased every year. Just in 25 years, our debt has increased by 29 trillion dollars. Debt per citizen is just over $101, 000. 870 billion dollars is the estimated amount for interest alone on our 34 trillion dollar debt. These amounts are unsustainable. Career politicians who don't have term limits continue to spend money we don't have. Unfortunately, we continue to elect career politicians who won't balance our budget. We need change, and that starts here in Idaho.
Warren Buffett had a simple idea about passing a law that says anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. There need to be consequences for Congress not doing its job. We can do this by voting out career politicians and voting in new members of Congress who put America first.
